It must have made sense to someone because Edelbrock makes the Victor 454-O, part #2909, for oval ports and 4500-series carb. There is no Super Victor for the ovals, though.

it does`nt seam to make sense but i know of an oval port intake with 1150 dominator presently running in the 10 second class.
