Anyone running a big hp NA motor(large solid roller cam-dont have specs but can get them) and have their tips under water at idle? Exhaust tips on my new to me boat are submerged at idle and Im afraid Im going to have a problem with reversion. Exhaust has not been selected yet. Will likely go with a new set of lightnings but am considering a set of imco powerflows.
If it is at all possible I want to have the tips below water but If that is going to hydraulic my motor Id rather not go that route.(duh)Just trying to see if there is anyway to avoid relocating my tips.

Solid roller 246 .622 on a 496 with thru transom rewarders and tips that are in the h2o. They are also under the swim steps which keep it nice and quiet.

I have a 10.2 to 1 496 BBC with a solid roller . 264 int 272 exh @ .050 , .710" lift 110 lc with tips at least 50% under at idle. I have 4" Hardin tips with blown out flappers and Lightnings headers. Idles nasty as hell at 1200 rpm and the plugs look good ( no hints of moisture). Was initially worried but it seems good to go :D

I did talk to him about it after posting this. Needless to say I will be relocating my exhaust above the water line.
