The roll bars protect the driver from being hit by another boat in the turns. not all Aussie boats use roll bars it's just the drivers personal preference some use roll bars others prefer a capsule and the majority have neither ! When you have 8 B.A.D boats in a race doing close to 150mph and then all trying to take the first corner together i think i would at least like a roll bar:)
