Comments:
This truck is absolutely reliable and rock solid and people notice how clean/set up it is. The truck is not lifted, has a very aggressive stance and tows like a dream. The biggest concern with the 6.0 liter motors is the stretching of the headbolts allowing loss of compression and coolant in to the engine. I have sent an oil sample from every oil change to Blackstone Labs for analysis. Every report has come back with positive comments about the engine and how it is breaking in. All components of the analysis are within the specs and it has never shown coolant in the oil. The motor in this truck is solid and I doubt you will ever find anyone else selling a truck that can make that claim with proof from the oil analysis company.
Maintenance and detailing
This truck is waxed twice a year, once a year it receives a full clay bar, polish and wax treatment. The body and engine are in outstanding condition. The only reason I’m selling is because we are considering a larger toyhauler and this truck will not work. The truck has been in for 2 service/warranty related issues. The first was an oil leak at the rear of the engine. They replaced the seal and it has not leaked since. The second item was a bad EGR valve and turbo. Both items were replaced under warranty.
History:
I ordered this truck from Ford in Dec ’04, took delivery in Feb ’05. It was supposed to be my last truck so I spared no expense on maintaining, cleaning and accessorizing it. 90% of the miles are from trips to the desert or the river. I set this truck up for towing (Firestone airbags, Sirius, Banks system, Putnam class V hitch) and it has never let me down.
Paperwork and owners manuals:
I have all the service receipts, Blackstone Labs reports, owners manuals for every accessory and the original window sticker.
Total invested in truck:
Original window sticker $47,215
Banks Big Hoss with PowerPDA $3607
Fender flares w/paint $698
Snugtop SL bedcover $1141
Westin Billet grill $236
Fabtech leveling kit $315
MB Wheels and Nitto tires $2177
Window tint $80
Sirius radio $100
Airbags/compressor/tank $950
Putnam Class V hitch $350
Total $56,800

We're all over the board on what we're doing. Eyeing a F450. If the 250 sells I'll move forward with the F450. My wife wants a WW Full Throttle and there is no way I'd try to pull it with the 250.
Honestly I don't want a new truck and trailer. The 250 is all dialed in for me and it pulls the boat and trailer with ease. If the truck sells we'll head down the path of buying a new truck and trailer.
Hope all is well and the kids are healthy!

careful with the F450. My father in law, whom is pretty UP on his truck info told me the rating (GVWR??) on the 450 puts you in a higher category. He says that IF the LEO's want to press the issue, they can make you run through the scales. ?? just a heads up. Needs a 450 over a 350 ??

Yea, the trailer we are looking at has a rating of 17,000 pounds and I don't want to max out an F350. I'll just rebadge the 450 to a 350 :D
