I'm not trying to start any sh!t, but everything is worth a look. Those pictures could be before the accident.

No doubt! There is also no signs of any kind of damage.could be "pre" accident pics, but i highly doubt it as well. I don't think that the boat looks the same anymore as it did on that day. The graphics had to have been removed by now.

Would the lettering be decals?

As far as I know, all the graphics on Fountains (and most EC offshore boats)are decals.

Looks like this guy is in Northern Cali, less likely than a boat nearby like southern Cali or Ariz...

Most graphics are painted Imron from the factory. My 35 1993 and the 42 are Imron.

I found a 35' Fountain on Craig's list. It is in the S.F. bay area, It was posted on 8-12-07. It's hard to see the graphics, but it fits the description. I don't know how to hook-up a link. Take a look.

Kind of suspect that he left out one pic in the So Cal ad.

This reminds me of the dirtbag in Glendale, and trying to find the car.
At this point, finding the driver would be easier. Somebody knows him, and once again, money talks.
Why would anybody invite LEO to check them ouyt by selling a boat? If they haven't found it, then I highly doubt any knucklehead would invite such an inquiry, which would easily be proven via credit card and phone records.
Kind of why there is no stolen boat report....

I feel bad for anyone that owns a Fountain on the west coast right now. I bet they get stopped a lot at the river. I hope they find the dirtbag soon.

Hmmm... not ready to grab the rope yet, but in one of the descriptions of the boat by an eye witness they described the large black Fountain name (aproximately 1' in height) inside a red oval. The red and black lines running to the bow of this particular boat do form somewhat of an oval. This might look more like a true oval with the boat in the water and running at speed. The Fountain name in letters 1' in height would definitely be a good fit inside the empty space of this "oval".

Perhaps I am stretching a bit too far here but definitely deserves a closer look in person. The listing date and other similarities are a little fishy. Why no SoCal listing where boating is very popular? If the vinyl lettering was removed you would most likely be able to still see the ghost image and a slight color variance where the gel coat was protected from the sun. Would not show up in pictures but most likely noticable upon close inspection depending on how long the vinyl lettering was in place.
Ok, time to take off my ***boat detective hat and resume the standard non boat related threads and bashing.:)
