I have a '86 Stoker w/'97 225 ProMax- I am considering switching from dual cable steering to hydraulic-Pros/Cons? Any reccomendations on brand or type would be appreciated, thanks.

hydraulic is better all the way it is safer as well as better control the only thing i can find wrong with it is that if you blow a seal it makes a mess but i would go with seastar 2 it seams to be the best nay questions please email me at bigfish1229@AOL.COM

no thanks, I can't think of anything else I would want. I'm just thinking about changing to a different steering system.

Seastar Pro with kevlar (1500 psi) hoses, will run you about $700 - $800.
I put it on all my boats, you will love it!

Well, it was worth a try, you never know. My dad has been trying to find a Stoker with a Merc for a few months now. Still Looking!

I'll look around for you- the Stoker shop is only a couple of miles away, and there are a lot of them around here.
