Looking for a new set of props for a 1999 Baja 322 w/twin HP 500's/. Currently running Mirage 25 inch 3 blade. Wid open RPM is right where it is supposed to be. The problem is is trying to run slow in rough Great Lakes waves. Below 30 MPH props keep breaking loose. Looking for suggestions in a 4 blade...

I would think some 30 four blades would work. I run 28's on our Top Gun, and also have a set of labbed 30's. The 30's are just a little much for the 500's in our boat, but we are a bit bigger than you.

Is is really possible to add 5 inches of pitch when going to a four blade?

I just noticed in your post that you are running 25's now. That really suprises me. How much does the boat weigh?
Our Cig is running the same power and weighs in at about 10,000 wet. It will turn the 28's at 5200. I would think you get spin more prop.

The new 5 blades are supposed to work well. I heard the Merc will be available soon. I was told I could see 2-3 mph gain with a 5 blade.
I take it your boat is not stepped but You should be able to turn a bigger prop than a 25 3 blade IMO.
Go to Offshoreonly.com and ask the quastion there. There is probably someone there that will be familier with your hull. Good luck.

On my new 32' Schiada Offshore we are testing props now. You should be able to increase pitch to 26 or 28 4 blade with no problem. The key is, you have to test a number of props and compare hole shote to top end. 30 pitch may work, but you will probably sacrafice hole shot.

Im having a problem getting the right rpm. I have a 38 scarab with twin 502 built by Typhoon. I was told 640hp each. They have 3 psi pro chargers. Im running 30 lab four blades. I cant seem to get past 4200-4500 rpm. What rpm should I get at full throttle? I looked into those 5 blade maximus. They look awsome. They tested them and claimed to get almost ten mph increase. Any thoughts on rpm problem?

You should ask GT, but usually if your under on rpm you have too much prop. But, with that amount of HP, doesn't seem like 30 is too much prop. You have to know your top rpm for you engine set up.
