They had to shut down a nuclear plant not far from here in Alabama because the TN river temp around the cooling towers was 90+. We went out last week and the river temp was 85 or 86.

Yeah, when it gets down to 105 we have to break out the winter coats:rolleyes:
The highest I've seen on a truck thermometer was 134. It was on the tow truck that came to get us, our Grand Cherokee, and our Cheetah at Water Road, on the I-40. We'd been sitting in the shade of the front bumper for two hours waiting, but we had water. The GC's trans lines gave out and dumped all the ATF, so we sat on the off ramp and waited.

Times like this and I want to move to Colorado...
It was 104 in the ham today...drove up towards Otter's way and on the mountain on the AL/GA line at 1800 feet and it was an almost reasonable 94.
The other day I left a meat thermometer in the car and it read 145. Anybody want some prime rib??

I like boating on Little River since it isn't downstream from anybody....especially JBB.

It's too small for ballers and there's only one launch at the dam...and water is about 1 foot below normal right now...and there's a few hidden hazards on the way up.
But since your not from Atlanta here ya go...

I'll be up there most of next week replacing rotten floor. Lemme know if you want a tour.
Come to think of it... I think probably go here if it gets too hot... water is pretty cold here.

When i used to work in the field I spent a summer in Palm Springs doing a retail center. Lets just say on days we had roof work and it was pushing 120 you would go through 2.5 gallons of liquid and we would start between 1 and 2 am.

Sshhhh.
Remember... we're trying to keep'em out.
Anyway. Headed to the river right now before the heat sets in.
It's mostly pontoons up there. Right now ours in knocking a rod...so I'm currently left with duck boats and such.
