Purchased a 1980 Diamarco 21 foot daycuiser. Very clean boat with 180 original hours. Chevy 7.4L, Borg Warner Velvet Drive, with Mercruiser outdrive. Currently runs about 58mph on GPS. Want to go faster. The boat is not a full stringer boat. The stringers under the motor are only run from the transom to the rear seat. Is there a horsepower or torque limit I should be concerned with? Could I tear a stringer from the floor?
