NO! They don't do it to your car if you get a DUI. Why should boats be any different?

Add another NO to your list.
Do drunk drivers cars get crushed? (other than if they are in an accident)

I think that is a little drastic.... As DJ said, the laws that are in place seem work just fine.

We have enough laws in place. I doubt making more will stop people from driving drunk.

Hey, I've got a better idea. Why don't we just pull their plugs on the spot before they even go through the court system.

Don't crush the boat but I would be for suspending the owner and the CF from being on the water and driving. In other words, the boat should sit for a year and the driver of that boat should be suspended from operating his/her boat or any other boat for that time period. It would get a lot of idiots off the water.

Why don't you just shoot him on the spot in front of his family to. Is anyone else getting a little tired of these drunk threads? I know nobody on here ever
has a beer and operates a boat so why all the preaching to each other!!

not crushed,

I think people who start stupid OUI threads shoul be kicked in the junk.
the laws that are in place are tough enough, and regardless, you cant fix stupid. In all reality if people keep jumping and the Booze on boats is evil bandwagon. we will find ourselves not even allowed to carry booze on a boat. the laws are fine, its the enforcement that sux, and with all the new checkpoints popping up, it is getting better.

The brutal reality is, while the laws on the books are strict and clear, there isn't the sense of deterrent we would hope there is. An overtaxed enforcement arm that is busy the whole day coupled with a judicial system primarily interested in fees and not justice has created a somewhat permissive state.
PJ O'rourke had a very interesting piece on the very subject, but as it relates to the DOT in his interview for the novel "A Parliament of Whores" by Rolling Stone... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
That would certainly keep me between the lines... albeit a little bit Machiavellian...

They do crush you car in Anchorage, if no one buys it at the auction. 2nd offense is forfeiture of vehicle, REGARDLESS of ownership!

no....they should be sold and the profit from the sale given to their victoms.
Then the owner should be crushed by bubba against the bars of his cell....but only if he has a purdy mouth!!!!!:) :) :) :)

In So Cal, Ontario I think, it was streetracers cars that were crushed recently, not DUI's.

I got caught out there a couple times back in the day. Fortunately before they started crushing. When I applied to OPD and I informed them of that, they pretty much dismissed me from the application process on the spot.
