I wouldn't count on any sites being avaliable on Fri. Might want to see if you can buddy up with somebody that is going earlier. I'm sure you can have two trucks and trailers on one site. You thought the July bash was great you ain't seen nothing yet.:D

I've run at that sandbar many times but I've got to say that is not a safe place to go real fast. Mainly because there are hundreds of people standing too close and boats coming and going all the time.
I've gone by the crowd at 115 + when I ran that hydro a couple years ago but it was not safe and I won't do it again.
It sounds like there will be several real fast boats like Scott's there. They will certainly be a crowd pleasers but they also are capable of way more than that area can support.

Don't know if I can make it now:mad: I lunched my jetaway today. Felt a little vibration, thought I may have sucked up some seaweed, hit the gas a few times to try and clear it out, smelt something burning and shut her down. Looked back by the engine a saw a bunch of oil sprayed all over and leaking from my jetaway. I'm sure I cant get it rebuit by thursday, if at all:confused:

Check the mounting bolts, make sure they are tight! Top off the reservoir and start trucking;) if the clearances are off a little they will leak a little, keep it full, it's much too new to be crapping out now:cool:

Really though, my boat is not ready for any 1/4 mile runs yet.
It's fun for short blasts but without the weight of a passenger in the front seat to help hold the bow down it will stand straight up and be dangerous. I hit it with just me in the boat last saturday at Hardy and it stood up real high and the left sponson came out of the water and I thought it was going over. :eek:
I need more cav plate area, a down pedal, a whirlaway, and a larger prop shaft. I've got plenty of performance, now I need more control.

Alky may be a good way to go for a boat that sits on the trailer 99.9% of the time.
For one you want to use every weekend, not likely. You couldn't carry enough fuel to get from one end of Hardy dam to the sandbar.

Yeah, I remember heading up to Torch Lake one time with a 55 gallon drum in the back.
There's nothing like pulling up to a pump and having the pump shut off automatically when the tank is full, as opposed to carrying gas, and mopping it out of the bottom of the boat every once in a while because you overfilled. :)
Back when 80 mph was fast, we used to have people going side-by-side all day long at boat meets. As the boats got faster, we didn't see this so much any more. A lot of people found that there was just too much to keep track of on an open lake at the higher speeds (the other driver, wakes, jet skis etc.) ......we had speed that we couldn't use in a lake boat except maybe for radar runs.
So a lot of the faster boats in our club have switched to pump gas, and the game isn't so much "how fast can you go", but "what can you do on pump gas with a boat you can run around in all day?" I've never been on an open lake where conditions were good enough that I didn't lift by about 120 anyway, but that's just me. I stopped trying to make the boat faster about 8 years ago, and my motor hasn't been apart for seven. Probably a sign of old age. ;)
I might need to do something so I can accelerate like Mark though. :idea:

I got a call from a friend who wants to run you with his Lake Hydro.
He is not registered on here and had a computer problem registering so I am relaying the message for him.
I would say that he does not have as much motor in it as you do in your Placecraft although it is blown alcohol. His boat is a two seater and the motor is water cooled.

OK...here are a few! A great time was had, and I didn't see any problems of any kind, at least through the first half of the day. After that, I was up by the dam where there was a HUGE party goin' on!!

Here's a pic of my Spectra 20 v-drive so you guys will know who I am.
Near the end of the time we spent at the sandbar I slipped and fell into the water while trying to balance my cocktail and camera. I slipped off the roots I was walking on and the camera went under. No more pics taken with that one ever again!

It was a great turnout on saturday at least 250 boats at the sandbar. had a great time and met some very nice people with nice boats. i want to thanks all of you guy's that drove from far away to be there.

Come to find out he doesn't have the boat or engine anymore and doesn't live in Mi. either. He just delights in stirring s**t and that's the way it's always been with him. Even when he lived in Mi he would never show up to run. It's easier to just type s**t on the net. :rolleyes:

That BS aside it was a great time over the weekend. More real fast boats then I've ever seen there. The fastest guys had boats that couldn't handle anything but the smoothest water and that is never going to be found around there, especially on a big weekend, But I'm glad they showed anyway.

Keeps girls hair from getting wrapped up in the blower drive, and you can reach the distributor (adjust your timing) from the drivers seat, at least on a Chevy. :D
