Which one is a better buy and why?
My anti-virus expired a while ago and since have been using the AVG free edition. Also, is there a spam blocking program for outlook? I tried adding all of them to junk mail and it just makes it turn red in my in box. I dont want it at all!
Thanks

I say neither. We use Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0

I've switched to Mcafee, Nortons slows down the computer terribly....or in some of my machines I've gone with the free online antivirus AVG...its been working great

I'd say neither also. NOD32 from Eset comes highly recommended from the geek company that fixed my computer when the drive crashed. I use it and it does not slow the system down like Norton.
Search NOD32 on download.com for a free trial.

Zig,
I have AVG but the test on setup takes forever and I slow it down terribly.

in the offices we have to remove Mcafee because it creates conflicts with the software used there (Activant) so its Norton.

Run both Norton and AVG free here. Also, use Trend Micro on occasion.

Nod32 is nice, trend micro is decent. Norton sucks, and chews up mem.

ABSOLUTELY!! I used Norton, McaFee, and Zone Alarm. Kasperskey is far better than any of them, with Zone alarm second. Try Zone Alarm free trial, you will like it better than the Norton and Mcafee.

NOD32. Hands down. I've converted my whole company to NOD. Works great and doesn't drop your system to its knees...performance-wise, like Norton does.

In all seriousness when I used Windoz I had good luck with both Norton and Mcafee.

Norton sucks, i started using symantec corporate (which owns norton) but it seems to run far more efficiently.

Another vote for Symantec Corporate. It also can be a resource hog but I just set it to run afterhours and dont even notice it. Plus it was free:D so I cant really complain now, can I?

We had problems with both Norton and McAfee.

Never know that there was so many choices out there. Went with the Norton 360, and after removing the AVG and installing the Norton must say the little laptop running a lot better :)

AVG is by far the best.
I was going to get an Apple, but then I remembered I had to use my computer for more than looking at pictures, blogging and sending emails to my other hemp wearing hippie friends.
Right. This coming from a guy who has 10,000 posts...

I just put this on 3 computers. My wifes laptop died due to a program called "Symantic Settings Manager" that is part of it. I reloaded the 360 and now after the boot up, the CD drive won't work. I have yet to figure that out. This will be my last round of Norton/Symantic.

You'd be amazed at how much money I've made with my computer. Usually, when I'm posting, I'm coding. ;)
Amen, Brother!!
I usually have at least 3 programs running for my Job, plus my online investment sites. AND get reimbursed $20.00 a day just for using my own LT.:D
