Anyone still running BLOWN hemi's! I have a friend that need some advise on cams...and specs...As far as I know its a stock bore 426 ...4.25 crank, stock length rods...low compression pistons...and a 14-71 cobelco blower...with intercooler..and aluminum heads! Looking to make some power and still be a laker...Big cam but not extreme! 10lbs of boost. Some good R's! It's going in a 84 hondo t-deck...5-8 runner bottom! I guess..the question is what do the blown hemi's like as far as rpm's? Any suggestions...for a laker that rocks with 10 to 15 lbs??
Thanks,
Mike

Be careful with a bunch of engine speed with a hemi if you want the valvetrain to last.

Well, since you're asking for comments, here's my 2 cents:
A 14-71 Kobelco on 482 cubic inches will make 15lbs. of boost even if it is underdriven about 20% or more. An intercooler won't do much for you, the blower will be turning so slow. These blowers are usually for alcohol, make sure it is clearanced enough if you are running gas. If it's a hi helix teflon / nylatron deal, I'd sell it instead of running it on a lake boat.
You will need a ton of valve spring pressure to prevent float and keep the intakes shut, might as well run a roller cam. Blown motors will idle fine with a big cam, I was at 256 / 260 on a 468 and it ran fine.
