If you were going to build yourself a nice little go fast boat, which of these hulls would you prefer and why?
To qualify my question and give a bit more info, I'm planning to get back into go fast boating.
I owned, years ago, a tx-20 tunnel with a 482 gail banks engine at 17 pounds of boost turning a Dominator AA 6500 RPM.
The best I ran was 108 mph.
My plans, if I can pull them off, include one of the hulls above with a 565 (or 598) BBC at 5 pounds of boost turning an American Turbine 9.5 impeller.
Other than balls to the wall, I'm building the motor mild so I can cruise too, soo...
Cruisability is important as is top speed.
My TX wasn't much on cruising
Ps,
My ride now is a 1988 Advantage 20.5 Classic Bowrider with a 454 and Dominator with AT insides.
It'll do 77 with a little shot of nitrous, 66 on motor.

I JUST REDID A 1990 HARDIN MARINE CHEYENNE,BLOWN GAS 460 FORD,10%UNDERDRIVENit ran 93 gps first rattle out of the box.it's a littlt heavier layup than most from what i understand.camshaft is isky,650 lift, motor has blue thunder heads.needless to say i love the boat and i am wouldn't have it any other way!i guess i would definately lean toward the stealth, or cheyenne first, just my opinion.are you comming to jet fest 10th annual party this weekend at sunrise beach near corpus christi this weekend?have you seen our{TEXAS} websight? http://texas***boats.com/

The Cheyenne and Stealth were splashed from a Daytona by Tom Papp.
There all all the same with minor changes. The important thing is the bottom, which Tommy did after it came out of the mold.I would look for a used boat that Tommy did, before I would buy a new one out of the mold.

atxrangler,
Thanks,
I've never seen the website but it looks cool. I'l check it out.
Summer, (and boating trips) are over for me this year.
I'll keep it in mind for next year tho'
I'm kinda getting tired of just going to Possum Kingdom all the time.
(maybe) I'll have a fast boat next year.

The Stealth was made off my friend Bobby Zamba's Eliminator.Tommy designed the changes and did the work.Bobby was promised the first boat out ot the mold and never received it.I think Steve Strange was involved in the project also.If Pat Macenturf is the school teacher from Riverside, tell him he still owes Bobby a boat.

They're all real nice boats and you can't go wrong with any of them.
I talked to a racer who had a Cheyenne, crashed it and got a Stealth.
Even though the Stealth ran in the 7's he said he liked the Cheyenne better.
I had a Stealth and a Cheyenne too and I liked the Stealth better because of a couple inches more freeboard and a couple inches wider in the cockpit and the engine area. I'm a laker and not a racer.
I have had a couple Eliminators and in my opinion they are the best quality built boat. The 21' Daytona I have now is my favorite boat of the six boats I've had.

This is exactly how it was told to me by Tommy himself.
As far as the boats go i think they are all great boats and you cant go wrong with any of them as long as they have the proper bottom on them! I personaly like the TPR Stealth.

All great boats, problem with eliminators is the cost, they are out of their mind. Shoemakers got a picklefork mold and is ready to make boats that are priced well and they look great, give him a call.
For a low to moderate HP deal I like the wide center sponson like an Eliminator daytona has. For a lightweight high HP deal Id look into a narrow center sponson like a TPR or Ultra has.Any of them can be made to work but it wont be easy.
My personal favorite looking picklefork is the cheyanne with the drop down pockets in the deck, love the lines of that boat.

I like the Cheyenne, I have one of Ervin Capps boats and it has been a great ride so far. I picked up over a second from my other hull which speaks volumes for its efficency, and it handles great to boot.

I know your talking '19's, but I hear you Unchained, nothing compairs. If you wanna race then the '21 is outta the question. Over all speed and usable room, '21 hands down.

Chris and Unchained are right about the small quarters, my Condor 18 has more interior room that the Cheyenne.

So what happened to the molds for the TPR's?
is someone still making boats from them?
Ditto on the 21 Daytona,

I don't have all of the knowledge of these OG fiberglass guys here, but have you looked at a 21' Eagle tunnel? It's different, durable, fast, and nearly indestructable. Just thought I'd make one more try at turning somebody over to the aluminum side-Aluminum Squirt

Since you guys are talkin about these boats, does anybody know anything about this boat i listed for sale in the spam section. It is my buddies boat and he says it's a 19' eliminater scorpion with a daytona bottom, looks to me alot like a cheyanne. It comes with a new legend pump complete with droop and hyd. diverter, the reason i ask is i bought my old blower motor of one of my other friends and have a complete spare motor to throw in something if noone buys the boat.

I started looking at the cheyenne based on some info a friend of mine gave me and he too, said to make sure it had the correct bottom.
As far as racing, I might be a weekend warrior but nothing official.
They've started having play days at Lubbock and my brother runs a flat bottom there at about 96.
I gotta outrun him.;)
He says his boat accelerates harder than my tx-20 ever did and of course, the fight is on when he says that.
Since I do want to cruise a bit, a 21 is starting to look pretty good.
Shoot guys, I may never do anything but I've got this feeling in my gut so you never know.
I just think a big motor, a big impeller, and a smallish boat would be killer.
The cruise would be great. Low rpm High mph.
Maybe not but it seems logical.
Anyway, thanks.
It kinda seems like I just need to pay my money and take my choice.

Well I don't know about that, I picked up CONSIDERABLE performance with my 21' Daytona over the 19' Stealth. :D
Sorry, I couldn't resist..........

Any one of those tunnels will make a great cruiser/racer if you dont want to put more than two people in the boat. If you set the boat up correctly to go fast then there wont be room for a back seat in a 19-foot Daytona, Cheyenne, Stealth.
I put a lot of miles on mine on the weekends at the river and then have a blast with it at the race track. I know CS19 and quite a few others here do the same thing and have dual purpose boats.
The 21 will work but it'll take big power to attain the same speeds. Marty Stretch' boat hauled but for a 21 Daytona but it had a big motor and a big shot of n20 to do it. A lot of R&D in the bottom and jet pump went into that boat as well to make it as fast as it was.

[QUOTE=QUOTE]I would go with the TPR Stelth over all. 19 if you are going to get serious, 21 if you want a good all around. Boat has a attitude due to design/built lift and down pressures. Follow it out Tom Papp -Wilders line of boats ,Cheyenne, Eliminator, Stelth Edge his hand print is all over all of them. I have been involved and advised 2 to go to it on capsule hulls. With power it gets real serious and I love the set the boat takes and keep's.
If you are going to run the lower numbers and want a quick boat Cheyenne, Cal Performance, several others.
All this gets to be a personal thing, Look at what one's don't get strupid, Launch and leave and I think attitude under hard power down the track. I do not like to see high flying boats, It leaves you that much less margin and some days wind/chop can be that margin. But looking at your choice on other thing's that you use to push the boat
maybe a modified Bayline would work. "Im just Kidding here" So don't all my haters blow me out of the water. Its just a joke!!!
