It's going to be a long weekend.

You know, Alan.... I'm still choking on the 10% impared statistics you posted a while ago.
It boggles my mind to think that right now, 10% of vehicle operators on the water and on land are impared. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there.
That's some scary shit.

Actually the guy at 7:00 blew a .250%.
Another one at 9:00 blew a .171%.
Pretty slow night last night. Also had 2 DUI arrests. Both Felony, due to suspended licenses. Their BACs were .115% and .142%.
The only incident was a a girl in a 20 day old 2007 Ford Fusion, speeding, drunk, and rolled her car just before the light at 95 & Riverside Drive. (This was about 1:30 PM Friday.)

Ray, do you get blind drunk every weekend? If that's how it is, it's cool and I certainly respect your choices.
You seem like a really good man who has some good friends. I hope continue to enjoy all life has to offer for many years to come.
Perhaps the reason for my concern is, I have some friends who drink really heavily. I hope they know I'm happy to hang out with them, sober, drunk, or whatever they want. I also hope they are finding a way to enjoy life and follow at least some of their dreams.
It's none of my business so I'll butt-out. Just know that whatever your situation, I'm pulling for you.

Update report??
Saturday night was closer to the holiday weekend nights we know and love. But still down substantially.
19 arrests
6 DUI (+.08%)
3 Extreme DUI (+.15%)
1 Felony DUI (Suspended License)
5 for Drugs
4 MISC (warrants, disorderly, etc)
No OUIs (The storm kinda helped here)
Like for the OUIs, the storm that rolled through during the peak hours last night kept things fairly quiet. Usually we're around 40+ arrests by this time on a Holiday weekend. Only 26 as of Sunday AM.

No statutes titled noise pollution.
I did, however, cite a pickle fork yesterday morning for running open headers, no registration, and insufficient PFDs.
He (the driver) was wearing a PFD, but his passenger wasn't, and there wasn't even one on board for him. I guess the driver was only concerned about himself.
And if "Dickhead in Public" was a crime, this guy would have gotten "life".

These are the types than ruin it for eveyone. We, as ***boaters, need to educate the un knowing and push the "safety above all else" agenda. I can see the open headers, although illegal, not a safety issue. Also the no registration, maybe he didn't have time to go to the DMV or AZ fish and game, but the safety issue is inexcuseable........Vest up people, everyone on board anytime a ***boat, especially a hydro, is above "plane" speed......Alan, I hope your weekend falls below expectations..........MP

In Arizona a DUI achieves Felony status if:
1. License is suspended (for any reason or in any State)
2. 3rd Offense within 8 years (In any State)
3. A child 15 or under is in the vehicle.
Minimum sentence for 1st Felony DUI is 4 months in Prison. (Not jail) Subsequest Felony DUI offenses can draw terms up to 5 years.

Thanks for the quick reply, so driving on a suspended license only becomes a felony if you are drunk. I got pulled over as a kid in Ca. I had a suspended license and the ticket was enormous, I know it was not a felony in Ca. I was wondering if the law had changed or AZ was different.

No specific statute in AZ for DUI wreck with injuries. However if the drunk is at fault, Manslaughter (if deaths occurs), Aggravated Assault (serious injuries), Felony Criminal Damage (property damage above $250) and Endangerment could apply.

Broken nose could be considered serious injury, as would any broken bone. Aggravated Assault and Endangerment would apply.
The Aggravated assault charge could be a class 2 Felony. (Class 1 being the highest, as in first degree murder, and class 6 being the lowest.)
Endangerment is recklessly putting someone in apprehension of Physical Injury. Felony Endangerment is putting someone in apprehension of Serious Physical Injury.

Labor Day quiet on river
By John Gutekunst
Tuesday, September 4, 2007 4:21 PM MST
It was another quiet holiday weekend for Parker-area law enforcement and emergency agencies. As of 9 a.m. on Monday, the La Paz County Sheriff's Office was reporting just 35 arrests since Friday evening.
Half the arrests reported were related to operating a motor vehicle of boat while under the influence of alcohol. These included seven for DUI, four for extreme DUI, four for aggravated DUI, one for OUI, and two for extreme OUI.
Of the other arrests, seven were drug related. There were three arrests for disorderly conduct and three for traffic violations. One person was arrested for assault, one was arrested for obstructing government operations, and two were arrested on outstanding warrants.
LPCSO Boating Safety Officer Lt. Alan Nelson reported there were no significant accidents or injuries on the river.
The sheriff's office reported there was a single vehicle rollover accident on Friday evening on State Route 95 near milepost 148. No further details were available at press time.
The quiet Labor Day weekend comes after Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends which were also relatively quiet. Holiday weekends in recent years in Parker have seen substantially fewer arrests or major incidents than had been reported in previous years.
