I'm new to your message board. Thanks for having me! I currently own a 2000 Chaparral 196 SSi with a 5.0. I love this boat;however, as you can imagine I've out grown the performance of it. Would like a bigger boat probably in the 25'range. Would like a boat that is just as good at going 70 Mph as it is at pulling a wakeboarder at 18-20 mph. Want a V-hull with cabin. Quality of the interior and stylish looks are important.
Would like anyones opinion on what boat they would choose and what power opt. Hp 500 would be too pricey.

Are you familiar with Hallet Boats? I have a 250S for sale. This boat is a 1997, and powered by a 2001 Mercruiser 496HO. The boat is immaculate and will do about 70. I can sell it for $39,995.

We made a similar move a couple of years ago. Our first boat was Searay 200 Bowrider 5.0L. We used it for general boating and wakeboarding. I even installed a pole for boarding. We then wanted a performance boat for overnighting, but maintain the watersport capability. We decided on a Eliminator 260 Eagle 454Mag. The boat served both desires. However, now we have decided to move up with more amenities and were done wakeboarding. Anyways our 26 is for sale. It is listed on this site under offshore sport boats. It is also in the trader. If you are interested my email is aztodd@att.net

I agree with bigareintheair with the choice of Hallett. If you want a mid-cabin in the 24' range, take a look at the Hallett 255 @ www.hallettboats.com. (http://www.hallettboats.com.) We have a Hallett 210 and it throws a pretty good wake for not being a competition boat.

All great suggestions.
I'll add that you should check out the Nordic 25' Rage. I also believe it was reviewed in this month's Hot Boat issue.

I have my Donzi 22zx for sale.
It is 22 feet with a Mercruiser 502 Magnum (415 hp). Only 105 hours. The boat will do 80 mph. Let me know if interested. Even if you're not interested in mine you should check out Doniz. I have been very impressed with the quality and performance of mine! So much so that I now want to upgrade to a 28' Donzi.
