IMO, no ... not very likely ... BTW, AV Gas is designed to burn best at altitudes of +3,000ft.

i haven't swapped pullies yet, but, just wanted to think ahead, just wondering if someone out there had don this and had a proven method.av gas is 3.50 at my local air strip.tolulene can be mixed with gasoline to raise the octain substantially.some folks i read about are running a 25tol to 75% mixture and adding marvel with no problems.a 55 gal drum of tolulene is about 230.00 at sherwin williams.just thinking out loud.

Many people seem to think that AV gas is a good way to go for a high compression engine. That is not true at all. It will not make any more power; it will actually hurt power when compared to similar racing gasolines.
Aviation fuels were designed for aviation use.
The popular choice is Avgas100LL, which stands for 100 octane low lead. It has 2 grams of lead per gallon instead of the normal 8-10 grams in racing gasolines. It also has a high level of aromatics, which generally cause poor throttle response ... doesn't have that crisp response.
The other choice is Avgas100/130, which has 4 grams of lead per gallon. It is better than Avgas100LL, but still not as good as racing gasoline.
Gasoline designed for racing will have a specific gravity of about 0.75. The best you’ll find in avgas will be about 0.70 if you’re lucky.
If you want the most power from your engine, you’ll need to use a fuel that was designed for that application. In our cases AV gas is not.
my .02 for what it's worth ... I am Southern California's Torco Distributor so I am a little biased ... but don't advise AV gas at all.

Busby, what do you think of the Mach Series Accelerator just for gaining a few points?

You can call Eastern Race Fuels @ 1-866-429-2849 to find a local Torco distributor, you are near Houston ... so there should be a distributor close. To quote prices for Texas would be unfair ... their final destination charges might be different than here in California, so I'm sure that their costs would be different. But with that said ... currently retail here in CA is about $8.30/gallon.

Accelerator works ... for real. It has the right parifins and tolulenes in it to mix w/ pump gas. It's dyno tested and proven. It will raise your fuel octane rating as much as 14 points (depending on how much of the concentrate you use per gallon), it will take 91 octane to 105 if you mix one quart to 5 gallons. Of course if you mix it with more pump gas ... it will dilute it more and the final octane will come down.
Good luck guys ...
Brian

I have seen a few ss racers use this mix. I have never tried it but they swear by it. I have also heard that using tolulene will lower egt temps.

Marty,
I can get 110 sunoco for $300.00 per barrel, that comes out to $5.45 per gln.
If mixing don't work out let me know,he may sell it cheaper if i buy more than 1 barrel.
