My brother made some of these for his boys to play with. They had them at the races and alot of people asked where they could buy them. So he has made a few more to sell. If anyone is interested he wants 30.00 a piece for them. They are really neat and alot more kid friendly than the diecast ones.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/524/patrice_pictures_037.jpg

Let me know where to send the money & contact info.
Now all I need is a Tony S. action figure. BTW- does the bottom have a prop, prop shaft & turn fin. Just like the real one, I am planning on showing the bottom.....:D :D :D
Sorry Tony I could not resist.
Seriously, My 2 year old son will dig it.

I will have my brother register here so he can answer your questions. I told him that they are alot of work for $30.00. He said that his boys helped make them and that its a great father and sons project. They are coming out to Phoenix with us in November so they are earning a little spending money. Our dad made a couple like this for my brother and I when we were kids, and they were our favorite toys. I will try to get him on here by the end of the day.

Those are cool. Ya can't find anything in the toy stores that even resembles our kind of hardware.
I like the orange one, but what's that silver shaft looking thing running down the middle and where's the jetpump?:D

Randy,
Those are Great!!
I will take two of the orange ones in the middle. I don't know why but I think I like that one the best. It even has the carbon fiber valve covers. Where and when do we send the money?
Missed you in Waco.

Looks like it just went professional...:) Seriously, that is a cool way for the boys to earn some money, and teach them just a little about business as well.

I talked to my brother last night. He had to work late and didnt have time to get on the computer. Hopefully he will get to it tonight. I know he has 10 of the boats complete and some others that are started.
Tony, I wish I could have made it to Waco. I had a wedding to go to. I will see you in Phoenix though.

those are really cool, does seem like alot of work. Would your brother be willing to make custom ones from fotos? I and some friends would love to have anchor bouys that looks like our boats. I would like an orange flatty and red hydro regardless. I support anything that supports family. This is cool stuff right here ! email me payment info to john.slattery@cbre.com
Thanks

Hi,
I’m Ron Reynolds, the guy making the toy wooden Drag Boats. I'm using Randy's post because I'm having trouble getting registered here. It’s nice to see that someone else thinks these boats are cool looking! I didn’t want my kids to play with my diecast TFH collection, so I made these instead. There’re great for carpet or grass and they float too. If you’re interested in buying one, just email the kind of boat, what color, and your address. I’m asking $30.00/each and you can send me a check, MO, or pay thru PayPal. Shipping is going to be around $8.00 for US Postal Priority. I’ll try and get more accurate shipping cost as soon as I ship the first one out.
• Types of Boats available:
Open flat (no capsule) Beezer or Cole style. (I haven’t done a T- deck yet, but I’m going to next batch.)
Capsule Flat with wing
Capsule Hydro
• Colors Available: Red, Orange, Yellow, Purple, Blue, White, Gloss Black, Satin/Flat Black
I could try some “custom jobs” but I would have to charge more to make it worth while.
My email address:

My son and Granson have been playing with the boats non-stop since I gave them the boats about 4 hours ago. The grandson turns 2 on Sunday and I will be out of town so I gave them to him today. He is walking around with all three and won't let them out of his reach. He loves the blue flatty and they fly accross the carpet. they started jumping them over some big pillows and so forth....
My next question is:
Do you do gel repair?
lol

10-04-2007, 05:31 PM
Tom,
Thanks for the post. That is so awesome your grandson likes them! I think being able to make a kid happy is one of those special things in life! Tell him to be careful though; those boats really accelerate in the straight-a-ways and can put a sweet dent in the base boards!!! Anyways, I'm glad he likes them. Now, as far gel repair goes, I'll have to review my "Warranty Repair Policy".............ha, ha.
Thanks...........Ron

Those are bitchen. That black flattie is very cool.
That must take you a couple hours + to build one. Probably pretty fun to build.
They remind me of pine wood derby. You should start offering them in kits, unpainted. :)

This is Ron, the guy making the boats. Thanks for the comments! It is a lot of fun making them. My two older boys help me out on the weekends. They're trying to make some extra $$ for our trip to Phoenix and the World Finals. They can't wait to go!
I'm always working on a few boats at a time and don't really know how much time is in each one, and to be honest,...... I don't think I want to know!!!

Hey Ron.....Can you do a "K" boat with injector facing forward and with a stacked tank?. Oh yeah....No carbon fiber valve covers here.

10-22-2007, 05:31 AM
Billy,
No problem. Forward facing injector, stacked tank, no carbon fiber anywhere! Now, about the color...... Safety orange seems to be real popular these days!!! (I hope Tony is doing OK), or there's this guy in CA named Bill or Billy that does some awesome paint jobs....... Anyways, email me and let me know what color, yellow, white, blue, red, black, primer only ??

Paul,
I'm glad you like it. I hope your son enjoys it as much as my kids enjoyed theirs! We gotta start em young!
I forgot to take any pics of Paul's boat when it was done, but I think I have some before it was detailed. I'll try and get them posted.
I'll be in Phoenix next week at the World Finals, so I'll be away from the PC for a while. I'll have some boats at Phoenix to sell in the pits at "Its Only Money" PE and "Flat Magic" PCE. Big white truck and big white trailer------(that should narrow it down and help you find it, Right?) lol
Wooden toy boats, TAF, TAH, TFH, K's, SS, Coles,??? $30 to $40 plus $8 shipping. Check, Money Order, PayPal. Send me an email!!!
