Yesterday my 19 y/o son got the call he's been waiting for...He is now a San Bernardino County firefighter, granted he is a PCF (paid call firefighter) but none the less he is starting his dream since he was just a little boy. :D :D
So Chris, I know you lurk, I just want you to know how proud I am of you...now we'll have to talk about rent  ....j/k
and make sure you wear your county shirt to the gym

He's totally legal, damn it. A professional Cougar like me has to pounce before other old, horny hags step in waving cases of beer and Cuban cigars.

On a serious note, I have an adopted son who was recently hired by Loma Linda Fire. So I COMPLETELY understand the beaming, proud parent feeling expressed in this thread :)
It doesnt mean the poor bastard's 19 yr old is safe from my lecherous snare though.

Kudos's Chris! I have a friend who ONLY wants to be a firefighter. I know from seeing him try just how hard it is to become one. My hat is off, Sir.

Don't give in on that whole rent thing!!! :D

Blahahaha~! Okay, I think I was misunderstood. I was talking about AHHELL'S 19 yr old son and the dirty, nasty things I could teach him.....Not my own psuedo son.
Im a sick, demented bitch...I'll give you that! But even a trashy ho like myself has limitations. (someday I hope to discover them)

PCF is a great way to start. I was a PCF back in the late 80's Found out my childhood dream was not all is was cracked up to be. Great program for test driving a career. Plus you can sleep at the station for free when Dad wants rent.:D Enjoy, Congrats.

Congrats to the Father and the Firefighter.
Chris, as has been said, you are entering into a noble profession of public service. Never forget who you really work for; the chiefs, etc, all deserve respect, but you work for your friends, neighbors, family, and the other people in the Fire District you serve. It is an honor, and a great trust.
When you get on fulltime in CalPers and can start sacking away money in a 457b, you'll be swimming in $ by the time you retire. Do it!
'Course I'm sure Pop is already drilling this shiznit into your head...:D
