does anyone know of a website or book to looke in that can tell me the value of a 1982 evinrude 235? i've looked at the NADA site and it only goes back to 1986. i'm kicking around the idea of selling it and repowering with something new. thanx.

I am sorry to say "ANY" outboard older than 10 years or so its not worth too much. Your 1982 is worth $2500.00 if that. Any motor almost 20 years old will have something go wrong soon. Even if it was rebuilt recently. I sold a 1989 175 rude in 1996, this engine was mint and babied and I sold it for 2500.00, because I just wanted to repower and get rid of it. Their will always be good engines cheap and people know this.

I sold a 1977 Merc 175 for $1,000. No one was interested until I reduced the price to that amount. Ran great, but the electrical harness and various wires were starting to look suspect. I guess it is hard to expect too much with these old engines.

thanks for the advice guys. the comment thebone12 made about something going wrong is what has me concerned. i was thinking along the same lines. it still runs pretty good now but it seems to be starting to nickel and dime me. i would hate to be 30 miles up stream when it self destructs. that would be an awful long trip back to the docks. thanx again.
