That is a big boat. Where are you coming from? That may be a bit big to go through fish creek hill. May be better to go via Roosevelt.
The lake is great. Even if there is people there the water is not that rough. Not like Havasu or the bigger lakes.
Have fun wish I could meet you there.

You will love the lake. I would not take your Warlock thru fish creek going past Canyon Lake. I would either go thru Roosevelt or take Highway 87 north towards Payson and enter from the top part of Roosevelt Lake, which is my preference. Take your cover and put it on before the road turns to dirt or you will spend hours trying to clean your Warlock before you put it in. Be patient once you hit the dirt because it is a washboard. Take the boat and have a great weekend.

with your truck i'd definately go down the roosevelt way....some rocks stick out at some of the turns and your truck might be too high.......i wouldn't chance fish creek hill......aj took his truck and old scarab up fish creek hill so ask him about it.....last time i was there someone was pulling in with a 30 magic coming down the roosevelt way.......what day are you going???
definately COVER THE BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The lake is absolutely fantastic once you get there. Not always the best for people watching but great for boating, skiing, boarding.

As far as the lake is concerned take the boat for sure. As far as towing I would only go in via Roosevelt. Even then the tow to the Marina is nuts. 1 1/2 lane blind turns, big drop offs and there is lots of wash board. Give your a trailer a check over for loose boards and bolts before you go and strap her down. Expect to get dirty. If you have a tonneau cover snap it on. I put the full cover on my boat and thought it would help going real slow. Wrong the boat was just as dirty.
You can always launch at the camping area and save yourself some miles in to the Marina but then your trailer is back there.
Here is the easy part.

It's a parking pass for your vehicle and or watercraft while staying in the Tonto forest ( thanks Clinton) You pretty much have to get them for each day and they can be obtained at local area stores and gas stations. Dont assume you can get one down by the camping area. They removed all the self pay stuff from Bartlett and you have to go to the Marina store or one on the gas stations in Carefree. I would expect the same at Apache.

One of the best lakes in AZ so take the boat (i have a 25 warlock i take there no problem). Just like everybody said go to the rosevelt dam and take the road down from there. its about 5 miles to the Burnt Corral camp ground and ramp, which is also a great camp ground with lake front camp sites.

That is a big boat.
Justin, we just got back from our Annual Labor Day trip to Apache. We took the Nordic, (35 feet, 40 on the trailer) and had no problems. Does get dirty but we knew that ahead of time. Tow in from the dam at Rosevelt and it's exactly 4.3 miles of dirt road to get to Lower Burnt Corral campgrounds, then it resumes to pavement inside the campgrounds and launch area. If you are going to the marina, it's a long and trecherous (sp?) ride, I would highly suggest launching at the campgrounds and boating to the marina in needed. We used to camp in the campgrounds but now enjoy finding primitive spots, besides we sleep on the boat with the A/C anyway.:D I'll post some pictures from this weekend in a few minutes.

Here's some pics, just to let you know, the water was about 74 degrees and if you do beach it, keep an eye out, the water was going up and down about 2 feet overnight. We found it best to use a sandspike off the bow and throw an anchor off the back, then float the boat a couple of feet off shore.

no self pay at apache either. You can get them at the Marina or the forest station at Roosevelt.
