Why is Mark Martin in a Truck? Why is Tony Stewart and others in the Busch series? Shouldn't the "Cup" guy's stay up there and save the openings for other drivers? You don't see RC racing in the Supercross lights. It's not like these drivers need the money. I know there are some drivers ( Jason Leffler) for one that go back and forth but keep the full time drivers in the Cup series. Opinions welcome.

I thought many of them did it to get extra track time which helps out for their cup race.

Every bit of seat time counts.

Simple answer.
They're racers. They love to race, and the purpose of racing is to win. Kenny Schrader still races in the modified series. Robby Gordon races Off-Road and Indy (when he can).
Why not race race whenever you have the chance? I'll admit it isn't really "fair" when you have a Busch or Truck racer trying to get the maximum points to run for a Championship, and the top finishing spots in the races are filled with Cup drivers, who usually have more experience and a bigger budget (Sponsors will pay more for a car with a "Name" and the likelihood of a win or top finish.) Kinda like a Major League Baseball player going to to Double or Triple A ball, just to play ball. They'd smoke the minor leaguers.
NASCAR won't step in to prevent it, because with the big names come the fans to watch them race. That brings in more money for everyone, including the Busch or Truck teams. Bigger exposure brings bigger purses. Compare the purse and attendance when Busch runs at Kentucky or other smaller tracks with what's there at the "companion" races (Busch or Truck and Cup at the same track, same weekend.)
Most of those guys would race anything anywhere anytime. Got a couple of golf carts & some racer friends? I'll guarantee that if you put them each behind the wheel of one, they'll end up racing each other.

It's all about the BIG $$. Kinda suck's for the guys trying to make a name for them selves. I would like to hear from some of the new guy's and get there take on things.
I understand about wanting to race anything and everything.
Speeking of Robby, I used to race him up and down Parker at 2:00 Am when he had the 37' Fountain. For some reason he used to win or swamp my little 20' boat. Fun and Games.
You are right, Nascar will never step in to stop the CHERRY PICKING!
It would be cool to see how the points race would end up if the Big Dog's were not involed.

Last time I checked it had no bearing on the outcome of any of the Busch Championships.....

HD, there is no way to predict if they would change the points race or not. If you take out the few Cup guy's would the other drivers cause an accident and take out the points leader? There are endless scenarios of "If's and But's".
I know most of these guy's do not run full time. (for the points)
