That is a plug in for a stern light when you anchor. It should have come with a aluminum pole with a white light on top. Not real common on jets.

That is a great idea! Or an outlet to plug in an air pump for the tubes. . . .

Pump up tubes, that's a good one too.

Good idea, but it you're better off leaving it as is.
If you want an outlet for a permanent charger there is such a thing its black plastic w/ a black rubber cover (http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/270625/377%20710%201652/0/Shorepower%20Chargers/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/10/0?N=377%20710%201652&Ne=0&Ntt=Shorepower%20Chargers&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&page=CategoryDisplayLevel1&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=null&subdeptNum=null&classNum=null) not that fancy but its good enough

The contact in those are very weak. I wouldn't consider using it for anything that will pass more than a couple of amps...... Just go to West Marine and get the replacement light pole for it......

Ditto: Sometimes they have a hard time running the light with full power. The contact area is not that large.
For blowing up tubes I have a set of alligator clips to go one the battery with a Cig lighter outlet on the other end.

Wow I thought this was a joke.
My boat is a project at the moment and I haven't been on the water in along time. When I was, I don't ever think I took notice of that on other boats. I never got a Pole Light when I got the boat so I figured I would ask the experts.
No joke but if your were entertained, that's cool too.

Looks like a flag pole in this photo. Wish I had seen this photo before posting.
