Boogeyman...Is yours an SST? Is there any difference between the SST and Aristocrat besides the top deck?

Same color as my old SST, I had a A impeller turning 6000 rpm and would run 93.4 on gps.
As far as catching air I would jump waves at 70 mph and get some good hang time.
It was a fun and safe boat for the lake.

When I picked up my boat from the interior shop there was a '82 Sleekcraft up there that they had just cut out the deck to make an open bow.
It looked pretty good.

What up fellow jetters? I haven't been on the boards for a while, lurk every now and then but have been out of touch for a while. I own the Sleekcraft featured in the latest issue and I am very thankful and proud it is in the magazine! It was not an easy project and I'm sure most of you can appreciate the labor involved. The appearance in the magazine is an awesome reward! Thanks to Brett Bayne and Hot Boat! Although I wish they would have got the captions under the photos in the right place:( Nonetheless the pictures look great to me!
It is a great handling boat! It handles moderate chop pretty good, it has that nice aired out feeling at speed and turns great (although if you crank the wheel hard on the gas it pops the tail pretty easy). The "E" pump has no fins underneath. My next project is to get a "G" style intake installed. Just need some $$$
I think the boat is a pretty heavy boat, probably 800lbs bare.
Mine does not have full length stringers, just stringers in the bilge area. It has a sub floor from the bilge area to just under the dash.
I think the boat can handle 95+ but it won't be that quick due to the weight. I think "Unchained" here on the boards had one running in the 90's also. I hope to get there someday!

I had a 85 sst tunnel a few years ago and so did a buddy of mine. Both boats had no stringers. They are also a very thick and heavy lay up. I ran a 13.5.1 468 and my friend was running a blown and injected 496. Mine never ran over 75mph and the blown 1000hp one only ran in the low 90's. My friend ended up cracking the hull up real bad with all that hp. We ended up cutting the top deck off and mounting it on the wall in his sports room! I sold mine before I could break it. With a little chop you could feel the floor doing the wave!! They were both very awesome looking boats though!! With all that transome repair I personaly would pass on the deal unless your wife would like to use it for a planter box???

Thanks, I realy liked the colors on that boat:) . I think yours rides solid due to the fact someone added stringers some were down the line. I have looked at six or seven sst sleekcrafts and never seen one with stringers.I am no expert though!! Maybe Sleekcraft played around with installing the stringers?? If mine had stringers maybe I would have kept it a bit longer. I was also told that the sleekcraft v's with no tunnel were a faster boat, maybe due to the weight diffrence?? Either way they are cool boats and had a awsome look!!

I built one of these for a customer about 10 or 15 years ago. Ron Hamilton did the pump, and we did the motor. It turned out to be a great lake boat that ran a touch over 105mph, and ran mid 9,s. at the track, not a gps. It had a 572 chevy with two stages of bottle adding another 300 hp. We installed stingers, with a rail kit, and the pump was moved out 5 inches. The boat was extremely heavy, but did run well with lots of power. At a later date, the same engine ended up in a Kurtis 500 hydro, and ran 159mph without the bottle. My point of this is that our customer spent alot of money trying to get that hull to go fast, which it really did. But it is a lake boat, and built to last.

I had a Sleekcraft Aristocrat tunnel jet back in the early 90s
The SST is a more performance type hull.
It was a good lake and ski boat but like others have said it was heavy.
The deck wanted to separate from the rest of the boat and I needed to add some supports in there. Never did have any stress cracks though.
I had a mild blown 468 chevy and went 92 mph at the drags with it.
