are you building a bottom end package?? i've got a all forged eagle balanced rotating assembly(eagle 4340 forged crank, forged 100 over srp forged flat tops blower pistons, and eagle h beams, all balanced internally(475 cubic inch)) for sale for 1200 plus shipping. the balance and machine work was done by self racing.
flat tops will put your compression where your wanting it;) je, srp, arias are all good brands.

JE is what we're running with blown alcohol.

I have used a lot of Probe SRS series pistons lately in non marine mild race applications with great success. I would not hesitate to do the same for a mild marine performance set up. Good prices too.
JE/SRP is another one that work out ok also.

Just a little fyi go with Ross if your hooked on those three. They make there own forgings and make there own pistons from scratch, very good stuff. Of all the brands Wiesco (siezeco) is the softest material and most expansive. If you want the absolute best piston for material quality and machining Arias is the the best, there material is the hardest and least expansive of all the forged pistons on the market.

Wiseco are great on carburetor motors, even with Nitrous. We've had them in an 8 second boat for 4 seasons now with no issues. Don't try them with blown alcohol though, they sure didn't work for us.

Well hopefully I won't. The machine shop I dealt with hated everything I brought except the KB pistons after he measured them. They very very close he said. Too bad my Ohio crank wasn't as close. This whole BBC thing is a learning process for me.

get your block line honed as well, they're tight on aftermarket cranks!!!! yes i've seen a kb forged piston go bad, they swell alot on nitrous application motors;) i've seen a kb that was 1/2 taller than when it came outta the box, lol.the crown was fine other than stretchin alot, no melting which is weird. could've been to lean:D

lol, notice i said "could've been alittle lean";) :D i think it turned out that the fuel additives he was using ate the regulator bypass diapragm(sp?) and pressure went to shiat or something to that effect. he did have another piston that had chipped at the lands that were kb. i personally have no 1st hand experience with them, just seen my buddy's have bad luck and seen their stuff.

Keith Blacks Hypereutectic's are good in moderate to high performance no-blown and non turboed applicationgs. They fit extremely tight in the bore, that's the way they are designed. I ran them in a 500 HP 351 Cleveland for years in competition street motor @ over 6500 RPM and they lived nicely.

A friend has a set of Ross flat top blower pistons. The bore is 4.280 if I remember right they are in really good shape. I spoke with him last night so maybe he will chine in so you two can talk. good luck,
