The river house is done and I need to move some furniture out next week. Anyone have a hook-up on moving vans, cargo vans, or enclosed trailer rentals? U-Haul, Ryder, and Budget all want $600-$700 for a 2-day round trip. Penske a little less. I have a lead on a 24' enclosed trailer but it will take a miracle to pull this off.
Anyone have a cargo van or enclosed trailer just laying around? I don't really want to use an open trailer as the rain is coming and the leather furniture is not wrapped
Thanks,
John

How much for a one way rental???
The smaller towns always need trucks. You can get a pretty good deal sometimes by dropping the truck off.

I used Budget (one-way rental) when moving my stuff to Havasu. There's a location in town that you can drop off their truck. You just need a vehicle to drive home. You can generate your own quote on-line. I'd rather drive anything other than a U-Haul across the desert.

You may not be able to leave a one way in Havasu-maybe Needles or Blythe. But One Way will be cheaper in the long run-less fuel for the truck, etc. With a One Way, you'll have a set time to use the truck-say 3 days-and a set amount of miles. One way trucks sit idle during the week-mention that when calling - Call the location you want to pick it up from, not a 800 number as they don't control P&E for the location, the manager does-may be willing to bargain...
I see you're in Anaheim; Budget has a location on Harbor, just south of Katella.
Good luck.

U-haul was about the same or even a litle more for a one way rental. It's been my experience that they want their trucks back so it's a bit cheaper to drive them home.
Forgot to mention that the location is BHC.

Thanks Gary. But it looks like rain is on the way!

EXACTLY! That's why I'm looking for a better deal. Something like free use of an enclosed trailer or moving van in exchange for free use of a river house.
