I have an opprotunity to get what's left of a few warranty502/502 crate motors from a friend. It is block, crank, heads and maybe pistons, rods and cam. I don't know for sure what parts, if any I will actually be able to get.
My question is, will the parts from a 502 fit onto/into a 454 block? What are the physical differences between the 2 blocks? Do they share the same bolt patterns for heads, intake manifold, headers?
Is a 502 a stroked/bored 454?
Thanks guy's

Depends on mixing Mk-IV, Gen-V, Gen-VI.
A fair ammount of Mk-IV parts fit Gen-VI's.
Gen-V's, not so much. One of the reasons for the Gen-V's short lifespan IMO.
I understand IV heads will fit on a V, but will leak water into the valley. Water jacket differences.
These changed again on IV's, to stop this problem and IV heads bolt on a VI.
Damn why did I start with the roman numerals. :D :D
