My 5 Ultimas where run down to nothing for about a week or so. Been charging them for a while now and 3 came back up but 2 will only hold 8 volts. Been pulling about 10 amps on these 2 and they will get pretty hot to the touch. Would a low amp charge be better for a long period of time or am I SOL on these? Any advice would be grand. TY

Yellow tops slow charge, 10 amps is a bit high, but it might bring them up. 8 volts shounds like shorted cells, and yes...toast.
Only dead for a week???

Yeh, only dead a week. Yellow tops too. Not realy hip to how a dry cell works. Read a post a while back about reviving wet deep cycles, was hoping someone had a trick or two i could try. Thanks for any replies here.

YOu could always go by the local auto parts store and have them tested or buy a cheap battery tester to be sure which is what I use

I think those two are toast. I only use a low amp charger when charging my spiral cell batteries.

I think those two are toast.
Pretty much no question about that.
Get an automatic charger that shuts off when the batteries are fully charged. AGM batteries don't do well with a constant float charge because there is no way to replace the water when the charger boils it off.

Get yourself the "battery tender" brand chargers. they are 1.25 amp slow chargers that bring the voltage up real slow. this is not a "float charger" this charger conditions the battery, it takes the voltage to 13.5 and down to 10.5. I got them on my pontoon, ultra, and sea-doos when not in use. they are 4 year old and no problems.
