Do any of you guys tow a 5th wheel with an air ride type hitch? How do you like it? They guys at the rv shop is telling my it makes a huge difference in the ride, but want to know from someone that actually has one.

It helps, but you can also just replace the king pin with a air ride set up on the trailer. That way you can still remove the hitch from the back of the truck if needed. The air ride hitch is a pain to remove from the truck.
The king pin air bag/shock set up is about $800-$850 installed. Installation is just 4 bolts, under 1 hour. Remove the current king pin/extension and both this new one on.

How much more is the air ride hitch with install? I would guess at least $1500 more.

I do not know about the air ride systom but I just bought a Husky hitch for my fifth wheel and do not like it. The slider pin does not work well. I have to take it a part and open it up a bit.

Perfect.
The whole air ride deal is not necessary, but it does smooth out the ride in the trailer.
For under $1000, I think it is worth it.
