Has anyone heard of a 3.4 Merc?? They were made in the early to mid 90's. If so how good are they, should I stay away from it?? Any information would be great!!

i think that motor was rated at 275hp,but dont know to much more about it.

I heard they were a true 300hp to the prop stock. That's what I was told!! I could be wrong but on my little boat it should fly!

All I know is I saw one prior to 1986,was one big ass outboard if memory serves correct!

They were unreliable dogs that were pulled from production by Mercury after a few years. Don't go near one. wink

Ditto on all the above, I hate to say it but that was one Merc that sucked ass kind of like all OMC product! OOps did I say that out loud HEHEHE. On top of that parts are very hard to find these days.
