Here is what can happen. Imagine this explosion right next to you at 100 mph...that is when this one came apart.
Luckily no one was hurt. If you don't know your gears and what they are...you might wanna check. Be safe.

Well I never had installed the wrong gears in a box but it would seem you could tell when you tried to slide them on that something ain't right man!!, maybe not I don't know, and who did you buy it from? That is a lot of parts right next to you flying all over the hell. Any damage to your hull or stringers?

I am rebuilding the V drive for someone. Did not happen to me. No damage to stringers. Very lucky all the way around.

The gears, front cover and bearings were destroyed. JJ is sending me the parts. She will be good as new...in fact...should be back in the water this weekend. I had a few spare parts I donated also. Morg had a spare set of gears...we all help each other.

as long as we're all helping each other..... can you rebuild my old toploader into a nice 10* split case? If there was a driveshaft and an engine attached to it that would be great also.
