View Full Version : 78 southwind
I hope I don't get in trouble here. I know if I'm trying to sell it should go in spam and I've done that. I just want an opinion. I have a 1978 Southwind 21' mini cruiser. It has all the bells and whistles and is ready to go. Interior in excellent shape, original gel in good shape. Original owner. How much is this boat worth realistically. I've been told up to $15,000?????? Just trying to figure out a good asking price.
It is turnkey. A few weeks ago I had it at Parker and it ran great then acted like it was out of gas and died. It would start back up immediately but then begin to lose power at 3000 rpm exactly and I went back to shore. Have posted the problem in gearheads and most feel it's coil or point which I've replaced. Secondary seems to stick and I.m working on that. Otherwise everything is in perfect shape and it runs great.
I don't want this to appear like a sales ad so if anyone wants particular information other than something general such as is it turnkey then e-mail me at JVND@aol.com. Thanks

 Post some pics. :D
look in todays Spam section under 78 Southwind
my opinion you have it priced about right. maybe minus 500 to 1000.
Thanks. That gives me some room for negotiation hahaha.

Sounds like a fuel filter in need of replacing.
Did replace the fuel filter/water separator.

Mine did the same thing back in May, it was trash in the carb stopping up the needle valve.
Like to get back to getting some opinions as to the value of this boat.

a little side not you might want to post this in the spam section ;)
I have it for sale in the spam section. I'm just looking for opinions as to it's value.

nice boat. with so many used boats out there for sale, it will be hard to get what you or someone else thinks its worth. i don't want to insult you but if i was looking to buy this boat, with it running perfectly, i'd probably offer 6,500 and start from there. i probably wouldn't go over 7,500-8 with how many others that are out there right now. :)
Thanks squirt,
I figure I have room to bargain. With so many opinionated people out there I'm surprised I don't have a better response Hahaha. Just looking for a few more honest opinions then I'll let the thread die. I don't want to take advantage of the "sandbar". I have it listed in the spam section so you can all see what I think it's worth now and all the particulars.
