Two Bodies Found In Separate Incidents
LAKE MEAD, NV - Saturday at about 7:30am, a boater near the Boulder Islands told park rangers that he and the passengers on his boat saw a man on one of the islands waiving for help. The Henderson man told the boaters he and his friend were in a boating accident Friday night at around 7:30pm, and a friend was still missing. The boaters went to Las Vegas Boat Harbor and asked employees to call rangers for help. Rangers called in the Metro Police Department Search and Rescue team to assist in the search, but he was not found alive. Metro divers located the body underneath the boat in about 20-40 feet of water.
A second death was reported about five hours later, when a boater near Sentinel Island found a dead man's body floating in the water. Rangers believe it could possibly be the body of a 39-year-old windsurfer who has been missing and presumed drowned since September 19th. The Clark County Coroner is investigating the cause of both deaths and will identify the victims when their next of kin have been notified.
