Need some help guys...I am working on a 86 Johnson GT 200
1st off this thing is running champion plugs # ql77jc4. Are these the best for this motor or is there a better plug or heat range? WHAT SHOULD I SET THE GAP AT? It sits on the back of a bass boat.
2nd does anybody know how much compression is normal at cranking? It has about 12.4 volts.
3rd this is turning a Raker s/s 467 prop, what is the pitch and so forth. Is there a place I can go and find out more on this prop.
4th there is a manual jack plate....what is a optimum height for this motor? How far can he push this thing without scaring the guys or blowing the prop off?
5th should I be running a different prop 4 or 5 blade?
6th oil injector burns real fat at start normal for the older system or not?
Thanks for any help

Your in hot boat. All they know is how to drink and pass out. this is the place you need to be. http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/index.php?
Just register and all is good. Try the search first and if you don't find it there, post the question, those guys are good. And if you just want to get drunk and park your boat on the shore (cuz you can't buy the gass for it) than just hang out here.
would you looky there, my post count is "777" me think me needs to play the lottery.

Haha...ur such a jacka$$
My Rude does the same thing on initial start up with the oil. Talked to Al Stoker about it once he said it was perfectly fine, in fact I think all 2 strokers do it.
As far as prop height there are many factors as to where you can run it.
