A buddy in town by the name of Eddie Whipple runs a small block 434ci at 14 to 1 and sprays 400 to it in two stages......its in a blazer and has run a best of 8.03 so far in the 1/4...

The guys at CP pistons advised to not go any higher than 14 to 14.5:1 for heavy nitrous when I talked to them about it.
My cam guy advised putting extra exhaust duration on the cam for heavy N20 but he said there would be side affects of the extra duration on motor only.
A safe rule of thumb is 30% of your engines actual hp (without nitrous) anything more and your tune up better be good.

Well 30% puts me right at a 249 shot. Do they make a 200 shot setup to be a little more conservitive? That would put me a little over 1000hp.

I'd say you could go up to 400hp, but 175-250hp would be easier on parts. We run a 522 BBC, 14:1 with twin 1050 Dominators in the 8 second boat. Motor alone is making about 825hp, and we spray 175hp to it to make 1,000 total. It has been together for 7 years with no problems, and it runs consistently. Be sure to retard the timing!
