1996 Baja sunsport, 20.5ft, 1300 lbs.(hull) 225 Johnson with a manual jack.
Any prop ideas, overhub, thru hub, cleaver etc?
Use for a little skiing, but mostly touring about with 4 to 6 people on board. Looking for good holeshot, rough water handling without sacrificing all my top end.
I don't mind a prop change to ski........

I tried my friends 22 chopper and I hated it. Not too much better or top end (about 3mph) but my hole shot was shot. I prefer a thrue hub 3 blade stainless. You will just have to play with the pitch to fine tune it to your boat.

Does baja have a recommendation on which prop?
Without know you boat or much of anything else I'm guessing you need bowlift to get best speed. I have a OMC raker that gives good lift but is slow out of the hole. I also have a laser2 that doesn't lift as much but with a much better hole shot. The newer laser has the square hub and large vent holes that you can choke down or close off with plastic inserts to tune the amount of slip you get on takeoff. I think merc props have to be drilled out for the spline depth to work out but maybe there is a flo-torque hub for OMC's.
Basically try anything - you never know.

I recommend a 4-blade prop... Now the pitch is more up to you and your needs,19-21 good starting point, and thru-hub would probably be best!!!
