I heard that, a Tahiti hull is basically a carribean mold. So basically, a carribean and a Tahiti hull are basically the same. Is that true?? I just bought a Carribean and stoked on it so far. I know that there's a member on here with the same boat ans color as mine.
Does anyone have a Tahiti/Carribean that they want to share pic's of?? I'll post mine this weekend. I would love to see some rigs! Post up.:D

When Tahiti was owned by Hardin, it's 3rd owner, that company produced Tahiti and Carribean boats at the same time out of the same shop. It was a huge company, lots of molds. :)

Here is a 1972 Shuster Tahiti that I rebuilt in 92
changed the seating and added a engine cover.
Man I loved the boat. rode smooth as a Caddy
and 60MPH with a stock 454.
Maybe Old Rigger can tell me what Model it was.

Going back to 1975, we bought a Carribean from Escondido Boats. At the time of the order it was written up as a Californian, but we were told that it would probably come as a Carribean. I dont know if the name change was due to new owners or a marketing deal or maybe they were getting out of past debts. Just passing on a little trivia as I recall it , I was only 14 at the time. So actually your Carribean could be a Californian that evolved over the years???

That's interesting. In '75 Tahiti was owned by Bell so the Hardin/Tahiti/Carribean connection wouldn't come for a few more years. I'd never heard of a Carribean until they were being pumped out of the Hardin shop, didn't know they bought out another line. Makes sense. I remember the Californian name though, don't know why, but I have an old ad somewhere for them. :)

Hot Boat mag ran a feature on a similar boat back in '99. And I once saw one on my way to Don Pedro a few years back. Evidently, that gel scheme was a popular one.

I have the same boat as the Brown/Tan one. Mine is white, blue and red. I can semd someone a photobucket pic if they can post it for me. One nice thing about the Caribbean/Tahiti line is that alot of them came with full stringers. Alot of the older Tahiti's I looked at were 1/4 stringers and stress cracked. My 84 is solid as a tank and I cant find a crack anywhere.
