ok now that I'm convinced to install the rail and plate mounting for engine
I might as well set the pump back while I'm at it.....
Let me hear your opinions on the proper set back on a 21 Daytona.
right now the hand hole is centered on the transom.
I was thinking it should go back far enough to have the hand hole on the outside.
by the way its a Dominator S pump

I would talk to Marine perfomance designs. They are out of costa mesa, ca.Phone #is (949) 631-2040. They have 21 daytona experience and I would do the setback and make it ready to handle power increases as you progress. MPD's pump work and advice increased my top speed by 12mph. If memory serves me correctly I thought that the bitting edge of the shoe shouldnt be further than the transom. Thats all the info I have to add......

I second this!!! I had a buddy of mine make my rail mount out of 6061 3/8" aluminum and had mine powder coated. Really set off the mill!
