here is the original thread it includes all materials and part numbers POLISHING GELCOAT THREAD (http://forums.***boat.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=002612)
buy the way i think it took a week of night work and two 30packs for this job. the original finish was not bad but had alot of orange peel in the gelcooat and alot of surface scratches. the boat is a 1989 model and had always been garage stored so that helped preserve what i had to work with.

That looks real nice...kinda wet looking for "old" Gel Coat. Hmmmm, you sure there isnt a clear coat over that? I guess all that garage time helped the life of the GelCoat.
When I bought my used 83 Daytona about 6 years ago...the Gel was ugly...I wet sanded the whole Boat several times and then Buffed it out with a machine...looks good, but it's still a lot of work keeping it up. And with the Black base color I can see the color fade starting again.
