i went to the swapmeet and that guy was a pain in the a$$. would not move on pricing and just about followed me out of his area trying to get me to "leave a $500 deposit, totally refundable" he would not stop saying that. a little burnt out on the swapmeet for that kind of stuff. i will pm Dan and ask him.

check out the forum at bbqgalore.com....
tons of info for building it yourself. They are only made out of steel stud framing, drywall, tile and stucco.

Also going to be making my own. If you look inside them, they are all very simple. Profit margin must be huge on these puppies!

There is a guy that is at the Lake Elsinore Outlet just for this season that has some awesome deals on the islands - wants to get the moved out and they come with everything, bbq, fridge, some with surround sound.

In the middle of building mine as we speak.....I'm thinking I'll probably even build my own Palapa to custom fit.

I agree with a DIY. I went to the Home and Garden shows, looked inside them and said, I can do that. Will be starting this venture as soon as I get some new tools for Christmas.

Whatever you do don't buy one from the guy next to Commander off the 91 fwy. My brother did and the guy is a fraud, he had nothing but a nightmare.... :yuk:

This is a Bull BBQ Island the same kind that Home Depot sells. I got it at the OC Fair but I think they have the same deal at the OC Swapmeet every weekend. It was $4000 OTD with the Rock Veneer upgrade. I looked around and all over the internet and this was the best deal short of building one yourself.

Home Show is the best bet..I purchased a Bull BBQ loaded with BBQ, Fridge, Side Burner, 6 chairs and umbrella for like 3000..delivered. Sold it with the house...going to go back and get another one though

$4000 was everything you see there including the Refridgerator, drawer, cabinet, 4 bar stools, an umbrella, sink if you want it ( I didn't because of the extra headache plumbing and connecting a sewer line) and grill.

Once I get my yard all dialed in and ROZ hooks me up with my A/V stuff I will definitely be having a BBQ here.
