would it be too much toask for someone to give a brief discription of the action. something more than a bunch of insider comments might stir some interest in this racing.

Do a search and theres tons of info and shit!
Jet boats, under 21', speed limit is 80.9... etc
They go round and round, and then yell at each other on the internet:D

i know how those races are conducted. what i was asking is how did they turn out. who won the jet races. who ended up champion. who broke out. who drove 288. finney?

Let's see if this works...
Here is something I typed up in excel.....
[attachimg=1]
I do not have the actual placement for the 1st heat, if anyone knows, please post and I will correct my spreadsheet.
With the DNF's, scratches, and break-outs, the following are the final results:
1st Place: David Carrasco
2nd Place: Ralph Brunt
3rd Place: Jim Rich

Scroll down and check out the excel page with all the results

The splash boat broke out a few times as did Finneys boat (driven by David Carrasco) and the "Plumb Crazy" boat (driven by Nick Volare) broke out once .
1 . 288
2 . 812
3 . 72
32 got wet early sunday and had it running by the next round but didnt race
A ton of fun for sure , you should come out and spectate as many did. I'm not really up on the rest of the info you asked for , sorry .

well yeah, but???
are those gps speeds max, or average?
in heat 2, boat 32 went 227 mph (possible new worlds fastest jet boat), and was awarded 1st place because boat 53 was penalized for beaking out...
in heat 3, boat 53 only ran 22 mph, finished 1st but was penalized to 6th??
the question is; why wasn't boat 32 penalized in heat 2, when boat 53 was penalized in heat 3? it seems that there are "excused" and "non excused" malfunctions??? what's the difference/criteria for excused versus non excused???
obviously, everybody participating is having a great time (especially the guy going 227, looking for 230), which is what this seems to be about. inquiring minds (that may wanna do this someday) are just curious about the scoring criteria...

I know it all doesn't make sense, I will do my best to explain it. Its kind of a "you had to be there" kind of thing.
All speeds listed are MAX speed. We have considered taking average speeds, but theres a 2 lap warm up ...and the guy in lane 7 is going faster then the guy in lane 1 during those laps...which would really bring down and skew the average speeds and you cant ask the guys to reset their GPS's when they are 7 wide with 2-4 feet between them as they go through a turn before they get the green. It just isn't safe.
In heat 2, Cj53 went 227mph (obvious malfunction) and Cj288 had no signal...but yet Cj53 had a verified breakout. Based on their placements and the GPS speeds of the boats in front of and behind them, it wasn't possible for those malfunctions to be warranted as a "breakout".....of course, this ruling was an oddity and was voted on and agreed upon by all participants that it was a fair ruling.
In heat 3, Cj53's GPS was ruled as a malfunction (he was turning it on when I walked up)
Normally, the "excused" malfunctions never happen, that heat was purely an oddity, but based on the circumstances and the fact it was agreed upon by all participants and the officials, it was excused.
