Food Drive Poker Run -- Havasu November 3rd [Archive]

Who is going to this one? This is one of my favorite boating trips of the year. The weather is amazing and the water is flat. Just a laid back fun time. Last year there were 60 boats!
I really like how the events are done before 2 PM at this one. you dont have to rush off of the water to make a dinner or anything.
We'll be there the Thursday before.

We are going to be there!! We will get there sometime late evening Thursday. As Mike said this is a fun and relaxing good time. Last year the weather was awsome.

I was testing the bottom. Making sure it was going to hold up to future abuse.:D Just bring enough drinks, its going to be a long run on one motor.:D

I am all fixed now. Under warranty as well. How much longer are your motors under warranty? :D
Warranty is not an open ticket at Peto's either. :D

I'll be there -- one of my favorite events as well. Had an absolute blast last year. Boat Bling will be a sponsor for this event again :D :D
Between Dri Wash and Boat Bling -- no one has an excuse to have a spot on their boat :D :)

On another note, if you roll through payson again and are heading towards Globe, cut across Roosevelt Lake. Much faster.

It is a great lake to boat on. The marina is really nice. It is the same size as Havasu, just not all the traffic on the water.

Like others have said before, it's nice relaxing weekend with lots of nice boats and no pressure packed schedule to worry about. Come out and have some fun.

Isn't that the truth.
I love attending poker runs but absolutely hate the schedules that go with it. I dont like rushing to get off the water and go to a dinner. I want to head to dinner with my friends and not get stuck in a awards dinner for 3 hours.
With this run, everything is done early and you simply have to show up for about an hour at lunch time if you have a good hand.
No real schedule to speak of. Go pick up some cards on the lake or dont, get them all at lunch and hang out for lunch and you are done with any sort of schedule. Hang out with friends and enjoy the day!

I have offered my help on some of the things that are needed to help put this event on. This is not something they do for profit so help is always appreciated.
They need 2 card stops covered. If anyone here would like to be a card stop, please let me know. This doesn't start until 10 AM and you will be done no later than 11:55 AM.
It is a fairly short course with the first stop being somewhere between Steamboat and Black Meadow. The rest of the stops are spaced in between Steamboat and the Nautical.
We need volunteers at Steamboat and somewhere near California Bay (close to Copper Canyon). Please contact me if interested.
They could easily have employees from Sleek and Magic do this in a Magic/Sleek, but they dont want to make this an event about a mfg showing off their boats. This is a fun event open to all, regardless of what boat you have. I have a Formula cruiser, not a Magic, and support this fully. It really is a gerat event.

However, it REALLY helps the organizers out if you pre-register for the event. In planning an event of any magnatude, it makes the flow much better if you have an idea of who is coming. You can easily pay at the event, just fax in your form.
They accept Credit Cards also. For a registration and poker hand, the cost is only $30 and that includes a picture CD mailed to you after the event.

Nautical room rates for this event are $59/night in the cove!!! How often do you pay less for the Nautical than the Bellagio? You have to come! :D

Another board member stepped up and is doing a card stop. Big thanks to them. They also have a sweet boat, cant wait to check it out in person (Trident) :)
One of the other guys who was going to be a stop has to stay in CA due to the fires. So, they still need help with 2 card stops.
Here is exactly how the schedule will break down if you want to be a card stop. Be in your boat at the Nautical at 9 AM to gather supplies. Head to your station around 9:30 AM. The flag drops for the run at 10 AM and you only have 2 hours that your station is open. You are done with everything by noon.
I am the first card stop which will be the furthest away. No other stop will be further than Steamboat. I will be somewhere between Steamboat and Black Meadow.
Please let me know by Wednesday if you would like to host a card stop.

I just talked to the girl. It is a taco bar. Chicken, beef, and all the taco fixings.
We are leaving at noon tomorrow. Gonna register between 6-8, and who knows where we will be :idea: Whats the night life like in November? :D
