Potomac River Radar Run

Tims 2 is hosting their annual fall radar run on Oct 13th. The run takes place in front of Tims 2 restaraunt on the Potomac River. By car its about 15 mins from Fredericksburg VA. One sponser is offering $1000 for the first boat over 140.4 (last years record). There is a class for just about everyone and its free to enter. A good way to end the year in our area. There is a boat ramp at the site for any boat under 32 feet or so, the larger boats should use other ramps.

Hey this sounds like a spectator sport to me.Been there by boat plenty of times,never by car...What time of day?Can anyone post directions? See you there!

Hey dreamboater,you mentioned classes, Is this for big boats...2engine offshore,3 engine offshore,140mph indicates some real HP.
Are there going to be racing Hydros,V drives,Jets....? Thanks for the directions!

Years past we have not had very many small boats. Last year an 18 talon ran and small hydro. I have heard talks of a couple of jets coming from the rappahannock area, but depends on the weather. There are also a couple of STV's in the area but again, it has to be calm.

Tims II put on one excelent presentation today! The boats were a nice array,the people that I met were very nice also.They had outboards,twin outboards,V bottoms.Twin Vs,Pontoon Races,Cats...The list goes on...There was a man in a Hydro...the water did not permit him to hammer his boat as much as he would have liked to.All in all, a great spectator day!!!...The fastest boat of the day was the TOP GUN boat...151.1 mph,twin outboard...120+mph BAD MOFOS.
