There's almost a twin to that boat on here but it's 427 Ford powered...any chance you would sell that or did you just get it??? How could you stuff Ol' Dale in the corner like that...he might come outta there one night and slap the crap outta ya. There's one down the street from me also....the boat, not Dale.

It can be bought. I was just talking about that with a friend. The boat has a stock new 468 no frills, new interior lots of new pieces I have not jet installed yet. Gel is original but was cleared befor I bought the boat. Just rigged trailor blasted, painted, tires, wood, lights led, wiring and diamond plate. It is sweet and it runs about 60 GPS havent had time to tune out yet. Gears or prop don't know % on gears. Turns 5000 rpm. Fun Boat.

No worries Lou. Just having a little fun. He can be a little bit of a pain at times but he has helped me out a few times too.
Now about the boat, that is a cool piece. That looks like it is a cool lake and river cruiser. What v-drive does it have in it? Our family has an old Hallett that is just like that thing. Seeing this boat brought back a bunch of memories.

It has a casale drive dont know %. Clean boat set outside for years I was surprised it has made it. The guy that owned it was rebuilding it and passed away. nobody wanted to pay their price, over 5 years it set for sale. I was looking for a V-Drive and this one was close to home. Cleaned up real well and to start it just look at the key

I ran the catalina ski race in a 1968 Howard 18 flattie Very similar to this one. Set up with a 427 Ford, had the bench seat which made it hard on the observer. It was owned by Ron Eckhoff from Lakewood, we pulled his wife Marge.

It's definitely a Howard. In the posted photos it exhibits the classic hand rails (gunwales) dyeing into the top of the transom at the back of the hull. The Hallett has a raised hand rail all the way around the radiused transom and in no way resembles the Howard transom. Both the Howard and the Hallett are beautiful examples of each respective hull manufactures work back in the day.

Yes, How long have you had it, My Dad sold it about 7 or 8 years ago me and my Brother and Sister have just started to talk to him again (just Kidding) but we were very upset when he sold it. I told the guy that bought it to let me know if or when he was going to sell it. So I was very surprized to see it today...

I bought it in November 2001. The guy said he had plans to restore it but lost interest.
I left Dallas at 8 PM on Thanksgiving Day and made it to Lake Havasu City at 1 PM the following afternoon, in spite of snow from Albuquerque to Winslow.
I completely disassembled the boat and engine. The engine was good to go with a quick hone and new bearings. I left it all stock.
The only change I made to the boat was to add a wiring harness and some electrical stuff (like bilge pumps :D ), and I changed the v drive from the original Aero-Marine to a Casale.
I polished the heck out of everything, color sanded it, and put it all back together. It took almost a year to finish. It's really amazing that the upholstery is the same stuff installed in January 1968, and it still looks great.
In 2004 my wife and I took the boat back to the Colorado for the Classic Boat Beach Bash. The boat won First Place as the Most Classic V-drive. We drove down the river past the Parker Dam and saw the section of river where the National Geographic photos were taken in 1973. We bought the 1966 F100 in west Texas on the way back home for a tow vehicle.
Everywhere we go poeple people give us compliments about the boat. I'm really happy I decided to restore what was there instead of changing it.

Yes That my Dads (Al Williams) Boat he ordered a stage one with a Cap not a stripe Howard was not happy he had to send it out for the Cap Dad did not like the metal all arond the boat. The boat sat on a mattress or two in the garage before the trailer was done. It took my Dad A few Weeks to drill the holes for the steering and Tach, went out every night just trying to get up the Nerve to cut in to that brand new fiberglass. After it was finished it spent it first 35 years at the River (Parker AZ) 1971 dad Bought a house on the river and kept it there. The Boat has never been left in the water overnite or beached. As kids are job was to keep towels on the seats, use are bodies as bumpers when docking and wash it every time it came out of the water. My Dad is a retired fireman so being a fireman he had alot time off so he would leave Mom and the kids down there all summer. That boat was a very big part of mine and my Familys life and was loved and enjoyed for about 35 years. I would like to talk to you more about the boat maybe I can give you my # or email address... Thanks ...........PS He also had a Holman & Moody Scoop on it for a little while.but the one on it know looks the best I think... I have the holman & moody scoop for sale..

I have always wondered why the rear and transom had paint over the gel.....now I know. The tangerine metalflake is cracking a bit and the clear is getting thin. I am afraid to have it worked on, keeping the boat original is very important to me.
The guy I bought it from related the story about your dad and the tach hole........I really like the clean look of the dash, and the gauges mounted on the engine are pretty cool, just have to turn around to watch them, LOL.
My wife and I figured that the interior was always covered by towels......it's forty years old and still looks fantastic. I try hard to take care of it, we wipe it down when it comes out of the water and store it indoors with a cover on it. All in all the boat is in great shape, it's a tribute to your dad that it looks so nice.
I would like to talk to you about the scoop and other things too. Email me at fg.stew@verizon.net.
