Planning A Trip To Powell From Dallas

Hi Guys (and Gals)
Two Couples Who Travel Together Once A Year For A Week (just Got Back From Jamaica) And Are Considering A Trip To Lake Powell Next August. We Have A 30` Fast Boat And Two Kawasaki F15`s. One Couple Lives In Dallas And One In Houston.
We Have Looked At House Boat Rentals And Would Like To Find A Villa To Rent That Is Lake Front Or Close. We Don`t Know Much About Powell Except That It Appears Beautiful And Peaceful. The Couples Are 50 Ish And Active. We Will Need A Golf Course And A Spa If Available.
I Know This Seems Like A Long Drive But We Have The Time And Would Really Like A Road Trip. Please Give Me Your Thoughts On This As We Value All The Input From This Forum. Fortunately Money Is Not Really An Issue. We Just Want A Quality Experience.

Just about the only real "lakefront" that you can get is to rent a houseboat. There is a golf course in Page.

August will be a bit warm at Lake Powell, but near 0 humidity so you Texans should be OK. Mapquest to Page AZ and you'll hit it right on. There will probably be great deals on Houseboats next year

You will want to make sure you make your reservations soon, because this past season all of our Big houseboats were booked a year in advance and they were even OVER booked!. Still our campground and RV park is full and we are in the "off season" :jawdrop: I love getting the houseboats and going out for our Family Thanksgiving.. that is a cooler trip but houseboats do have heaters and the big ones have a fireplace... :D
