Looking at one at five o'clock tonight. The price on this is 53 thousand it seems like a decent price. Is their any thing I should be looking for special. I know it is a 327 with a 4-speed. The El Camino I was looking at was bought for 25 thousand. Thanks for all the input.

What do you mean by a copy? The Elco was sitting in front of a auto shop when I saw it. The #'s didn't match on the elco. The engine was a 68 instead of 70. I do know a collector payed the 25 g's.

The Highest honor/award a Vette can receive, ie...perfect car
$50k range should a good clean Vette, but I doubt it will be matching numbers
I know someone here in Havasu who is getting rid of one for $75k a pristine matching numbers Vette, definitely not a driver car tho... trailer Queen

my moms 71 454 turbo jet #s matching 100% orig is one of those prestine award cars. it only has like 70k mi on it as well the only thing changed was the tires and fluids. yeah they are worth alot of $$$$$$..on top of that its a soft top hard top convertable.

It never ceases to amaze me. I remember when you used to see 62, 63, 64, 65 Vettes sitting on the used car lots for $1500-$1800. Stock, original cars that were traded in on some new car. Or you could buy one used from a private owner for $1000 or less.

Do your homework. Not positive BUT I've been told that before 65, numbers don't match.
Rio
Yeah , want to hear some monkey telling me he's got a matching # Harley before 1970 or 68 ,don't remember the exact year :D

What a small world. I have a '62. (And a 54). Be careful is all I can say. Numers matching does not mean much to me as an owner, because I am a driver, not a collector. But if you are being told it is a numbers matching and are paying for that issue, be SURE you have documentation in order before plunking down the cash. ANY car can be made up to be numbers matching and there are all types of opinions on what can be substituted and what cannot. Just do your OWN homework before you buy is all. 40k will get you a decent car in running condition usually. Spend more...get more....

I bought it. This thing was super clean and the guy selling it had owned it 18 years. I can't imagine a car any cleaner. Very nice.

I have a 1972 "T" top vette, original owner, came from Champion Chevy Manhattan Beach Calif. 350/T400, 3.08 posi, P/S, P/B, P/W, tilt, A/C, factory alarm. It has all of the original ignition shielding, wheels, and bags for the "T" tops. It has an aftermarket radio, and power antenna. Red with black leather interrior. I have over $1000.00 in new parts for it, and it has been parked for over 8 years. It needs seat covers, and carpet kit. $14500.00 firm, with another $2500.00 in new parts/ tires it will be worth $25/28K when looking in the trade papers. Thanks for reading. (too many other projects)

How true. A buddy of mine went to that show, he was telling me how a guy at his hotel had spent 2 million on cars the day before and could hardly remember what he bought he had drank so much. It's beginning to sound like the real estate market
