Need some serious help (PLEASE)

I have a 1973 hondo hull, where would i find the diode for the alternator in the harness, any help please, Thanks :confused:

Can you remove this part from the harness and take a close-up digital photograph?
Include diode markings/ratings, etc.

Don't know exactly what your askin but if your lookin for it, look for the big bulgy lumpy thing inline. he he he

You wont find it. It isn't there. Only time I've heard of a diode in alternator wiring was in reference to some electronic ignition boxes. I know my MSD came with one to install if I had a problem with engine continuing to run after the key was shut off. Why are you trying to find it?

if it is a gm type alternator i believe the diodes are internal.its been a while since i have taken one apart,If i remember they were 3 small pieces all connected together that slid over some small studs in the case.

77 Charger, you are remembering the "rectifier", which all alternators use in order to convert AC output to the required DC output. It is also referred to as the "diode trio". GM 10 SI series also have a diode inside that is for the warning light circuit.

Sorry about my moronic reply earlier, I was thinking of the fusable link.
I rebuilt my delco remy this winter and the diode pack was a small black thingy inside with three metal tabs connecting to the posts inside the alternator.
$8.00 rebuild or $46.00 replacement. I"M CHEAP!!!!!
