Does anyone know of a good source for replacement rub rail? I am going to do my 77 Spectra 20 and am not sure what type to get. (The guys at the boat shop threw the old stuff away &&#%$) I am looking at CP but I just want to be sure to get the right type. Thanks. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/confused/confused06.gif

Spectratoad,
I am not a big fan of the rub rail with the rubber (incert) bumper. I would go with the stainless, its more $$$, but it is stronger & looks much better.

Taco Metal manufactures many kinds of rub rail, they provide West Marine and DIY Marine.
Try West Marine, L$L Marine or www.diymarine.com (http://www.diymarine.com)
Let me know if you have trouble getting what you want.

I just replaced my rub rail on my 27 year old
boat and I got the exact replacement stuff from West marine and it was from tasco and it turned out great.

Thanks for all the info. Would you guys recommend the hollowback or solid? It seems like the hollowback would fit better. Thanks.

spectras are well built, but the hull and deck joint is not perfectly even all along the perimeter. So go with the curved [concave] back for better fitment.

Just got back from playing Army and shooting M16's in the middle of the desert for three days. Thanks SpectraOnly. Going to get the curved.
