Joe,
Looks like the deck boat is gonna be the fastest party on the water. How far along is the hull? I can't wait to see it run. You should bring it to Ming for a goof.

Lookin good.
Looks like a custom intake manifold or was it
cut down from maybe a sheetmetal intake?
What kind of intercooler,is it a race aero,i like the way it fits the intake.
Is it the tube type?
Just fyi,i was going to use the same aluminum tubing
to go from the fuel rails to the regulator but Jegs said
that aluminum tubing was only rated for 25#'s of pressure
not sure if he knew what he was talking about.
I know your way above that with those numbers.
I would think it should take alot more than than 25.
What's your take?

Its a custom made manifold to keep the height down to fit under hatch.
Its a gentry plenum and garett intercooler.
Fuel pressure is somewhere around 76-78 under full boost,so I don't think he knew what he was talking about. I have the same hard line on another motor and never have had a problem.

Looks impressive.
I see what looks like an electric fuel pump mounted on the front of the cyl head so what are all the other items bolted on the front of the cam drive ?
What ECU did they use ?

sofa king smooth
10-15-2007, 02:48 PM
Fuel filter is mounted to the head. The electric primer pump is mounted down below the head on the block. There is a cam driven oil pump as well as cam driven fuel pump piggy backed to it.
The management system is autronics.

That is one KILLER motor, where did you get the water cooled headers with waste gate provisions,Id love to have a set of those as Im eventually going to put together a motor with two huge turbos blowing into an enderly bird catcher, on alky. I know what everyone is going to say about the heat helping spin the turbos up but Im useing water cooled exhaust on my turbo motor right now with no ill effects and little or no lag.

10-15-2007, 03:31 PM
Cmi makes the headers and garett makes the water cooled exhaust housings.

are they in there catalog or do you have to call them, If you dont mind how much $$ were they ?

Call them they make two different heights. They are pricey I think around 5-6k
I think you were talking about the headers right?

Awesome !!
I thought I was the only one that was running a cam drive EFI fuel pump and a primer pump. My setup has worked great. I also have a water pump in the cam driven stack.
I read up on the Autronics and it is top of the line.

That's going to be bad ass and then some:devil:
I wonder if any one has ever put a Hamilton axial flow jet on/in a 21-24' deck boat?
Being here in the San Diego area I have seen a few of the Navy Seal small tactical boats and they run the Hamilton's. I just wonder how they would work on a 21-24' deck. I do know they are very $$$$ costly.
I know off topic for your boat, and they have their own limitations w/rpm etc.
Good luck with your project, I guess you'll get it finished this winter?

If that isn't the truth, I think I'll stay clear. I can only imagine the "boat" if the engine is like that. Bad to the bone & nothing spared when it comes to cost. Very, very nice.

Its 8 or 8.5 to 1 don't remember. 16.5lbs of boost is where we ended. 110 or better should be fine.

The hull is at the riggers most of the hardware is done. Will be ready minus interior in December.
We stepped the bottom and had Bennet do a drop keel. The boat was very lite for a deck.should run good I hope. Boat will live in Needles but will go to Blythe from time to time.

Where abouts in Needles? I am right by Rainbow RV camp/beach about a mile or so up river from the Needles bridge... I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know when you get it on the water so that I can see that thing run...
