im just now building a 454 and i am kinda wondering what kinda hp i might be able to expect if anyone can give me a rough idea i would really appriciate it ill do the best to describe the components thanks its a 454 with a 468 eagle stroker kit im going to run dart pro 1 all heads 119 combustion chambers and 325 runners with a comp roller cam with 308/314 dur. 620 lift , roller rockers ill be somewhere arround 12.7 to 1 compression and on top ill have a wienad tunnel with 2, 650s any ideas would be great thanks bill

Better put it in something that'll let you spin 6,000+ RPM, like a v-drive
Put it in a Jet with a largish impeller (like an "A" Berk) and you'll regret that.
Maybe run a "C". :idea:
468CID, big head runners, long duration cam, tunnel ram. NOT a good sub-6,000RPM combination of parts.
Much more important than what HP you can get is what RPM you will see, ESPECIALLY in a jet-boat.
Compare a year-old memory to mine:
Another guy, tunnel-ram 502, dual carbs, "fully-race-ported" rectangle port heads with 2.3"/1.9" valves, 312* duration roller cam, 718HP@ 7,500RPM, spun the Berk A I run, 4,000RPM max. 45mph.
My 454, single 700CFM Holley, bone stock Large Oval heads with small factory valves (2.06"x1.76"), 280* duration, .565" lift hydraulic cam, 400HP@5,000RPM, spun THE SAME impeller, 5,000RPM. 68mph, in a much heavier boat.

What stroker crank is that??............

I haven't heard anyone do that for years.
Those heads are too big for what you're doing. The 310s are more than enough.

Put a real shortblock under those heads and up the compression a point and a1/2. Get rid of the RV cam while your at it. Whats the durration @.50?
Oh, and get rid of the "Econo" carbs as well.

itthink the duration is 257 at .050 it is listed as a jet boat cam from comp to run an a or b impellor any suggestions for a cam while we are all here i have to order a cam today or tomarrow and i want a pretty mean motor

257 at .050 is fine.i think the main deal will be the very large runners you have.may hurt your performance some but no gonna kill ya.the compression you have will help some to.stay with the 650s it will actually be carbed about right.:D im gonna guess 600hp maybe give or take alittle.
i have a 500 c.i. motor 10.2 with a 254-260,661-668 cam solid roller that turns a A/b ss agressor that has been worked over by seastrums marine and we turn it 6300rpm.the head we have are 310cc runner.
everybody has an opinion all combos are different im not a t-ram man so of course i dont like them but i kinda dig your combo.i say go for it bro.
the 468 is kinda small for a big runner head but if thats all ya got and the moneys spent to hell with.later trav.:D

What gas are you going to run? 93, 112, 114, High compression means HP High Petro Cost.
